How was he dispatched? Was it the repeated falls that did him in? Did he overeat himself to death?

He succumbed to a massive blow from the backside of my carving knife.

We had an exciting chase scene when he leaped about 2 vertical feet from the bucket (while I was holding it) on to the kitchen counter. Then he scurried back and forth behind the toaster and the kettle and the stove until he scurried no more.

Prepare to die, A MOUSE!

He might have gotten away if he hadn’t twisted his ankle on the counter.
