Ragged Clown

It's just a shadow you're seeing that he's chasing…

Ride it back out

Here’s another version of Ride a White Swan recorded on GarageBand proper on a Mac with a real guitar, real piano and real microphone.

Ride a White Swan (performed by The Ragged Clown)

This was T-Rex’s first successful single.

It was the first single released after they changed their name from Tyrannasaurus Rex (which no one could spell).

It was released in 1970.

They didn’t have a drummer when they made Ride a White Swan.

Marc Bolan and Co over-dubbed five guitar tracks (I only did four).

It was kept out of the Number One spot by Clive Dunn’s Grandad which will be my next recording.

I have the single (don’t tell Carol).

I think I like the ipad version better.

One feature of the ipad version that’s missing in the mac version is the auto-create-your-own drum track. On the mac you either have to play the drums manually ( which i suck at) or you choose a drum loop. Ican never choose one at the right speed. This one is much too slow.

Maybe next time i’ll make a drum track on the ipad and export it to the mac.

Cross garageband compositions… I wonder how long until you just use the iPad smart instrument connected directly to the mac to lay down a track?

Why is Carol not surprised you have the single!

maestro – you’ve got to tune up those low strings.

Kevin March 21, 2011

I fear that being in tune would not improve the performance significantly.

Carol – I have Metal Guru too!

It’s not a harp. Tuning up won’t hurt that bad.
