I was listening to the press conference on my way to work, and remember being saddened by this question:

"Is it your belief that long-term results will vindicate your strategy and people will change their mind about it, or is this the kind of thing you're doing because you think it's right and you don't care if you ever gain public support for it? Thank you."

Or in other words, are you doing this because it's the right thing to do, or are you doing this because you think it's the right thing to do?

I then switched to some rock station. I can see I didn't miss much.

From your link 'bout Monday:

"... We take these steps -- and I'll also work closely with Congress to extend the availability of loan guarantees to help rebuild infrastructure in Israel, infrastructure damaged by Hezbollah's rockets. "

Gotta love it. We give Israel zillions in foreign aid on the condition it's spent on weapons from US firms, they use them to blow the crap out of Lebanese infrastructure then we get Lebanon to borrow money to pay US firms to rebuild said infrastructure. Hopefully we'll sell agent orange and poppy seeds to Afghanastan, too. Cigarettes and Nicorette anyone?
